EXIM Bank Export Credit Insurance: An Overview

EXIM Bank Export Credit Insurance: An Overview

What Is EXIM Export Credit Insurance?

EXIM Bank export credit insurance protects U.S. exporters against the risk of non-payment by foreign buyers due to commercial or political causes. Coverage is available for short-term and medium-term export transactions, and policies can cover a single buyer or a portfolio of buyers. EXIM insurance can also support receivables financing by making insured foreign receivables more acceptable to lenders.

Who May Qualify?

EXIM export credit insurance is available to U.S. exporters of goods and services with sufficient U.S. content. Eligibility requirements apply to both the exporter and the exported goods or services. EXIM policies are not available for all buyers, countries, or transactions — certain exclusions and restrictions apply.
